Tootle Two Another Wednesday, another sunny day, more light breeze. Six helms synchronised their watches, set them to count down fifteen minutes, took to the water and self-started when the watches got to zero. Nathan Pollard was first over the line with the other full Laser - Bob Sampson's - second and Adam Hilton's Solo third. Or perhaps Brian Pollard and Cilla Gilbert's Tasar, at the other end of the line, was third. It was very quiet on the Lake, the only sounds being the bubbling helixes and the echo of Roger Heasman's instructions to Sally Wills, helming the Bosun in fourth. After a bit Bob took the lead and a gap built up between the leading three and the next trio. Linda Spiller was flying a Radial and badly needing the extra square metres of a full in such a very light wind. After twenty minutes, as the leaders rounded Dam Green, they reached an agreement to shorten the race to two laps. Then Adam managed to get past Nathan and at the second rounding of Dam Green, Bob touched the buoy and while he did a penalty turn, Adam and Nathan dashed sedately to the finish line. Nathan probably got there first. Through all these excitements John Dabbs' Gull sailed serene and when the handicaps were applied, snaffled second place. Results: 1st Adam Hilton (Solo) 2nd John Dabbs (Gull) 3rd Sally Wills and Roger Heasman (Bosun) 4th Nathan Pollard (Laser) 5th Bob Sampson (Laser) 6th Linda Spiller (Laser Radial) 7th Brian Pollard and Cilla Gilbert (Tasar)
